Played at "Upper Meadow", Sept 2,3, 1791. On Monday and Tuesday last was played in our Upper Meadow, a Grand Cricket Match for One Thousand Guineas, between the Gen- tlemen of the Mary-le-bone Club and the Nottingham Club. A large space of ground was marked out for their reception, round which many stands were erected and, the day proving remarkably fine, contributed greatly to the accomodation of the company present. The spectators attending were supposed to be upwards of ten thousand, such curiosity seemeed to prevail with all ranks of people. The extra-ordinary skill displayed by Mary-le-bone in all the many aspects of the game was unequalled and justly excit- ed the astonishment of the beholders by their superior agility.
