- The Eastern Province captain unilaterally led his team off the field
with one over of the compulsory 20 in the final hour to be bowled and
Rhodesia needing six runs for victory, claiming that the 20 overs had
been completed.
- When they refused to continue, the umpires declared Rhodesia winners
according to the laws of the game, but the SACA controversially
reversed that decision.
