Date-stamped : 23 Nov93 - 08:47 India Vs West Indies: Wills Trophy -- Operation Desert Spin -- Sharjah: 20 Oct 91 Manoj Prabhakar, with his gentle medium pace, and the leg spinner, Anil Kumble, combined to bowl India to a 19-run victory over the West Indies here on Saturday. Prabhakar took his second four-wicket haul in two days and Kumble, brought in to exploit West Indies' known weakness against spin, justified his inclusion with four for 50. Chasing India's 240 for 6 in 50 overs, West Indies were dismissed for 221 with seven balls left. A 128-run stand for the second wicket between Sidhu (98) and Manjrekar (56) laid the foundations of the useful Indian total. Although Lambert, who made 66, and Lara, with 45 off 44 balls, batted well for the West Indies, little came from the middle ord- er and the last five wickets fell for 50 runs. Prabhakar swept through the tail to finish with four for 30. Contributed by probal (probal@*rutgers.edu)
