Giles Shield (Bombay Schools U15) Final - Scores _HEADING_ Report

GILES SHIELD (U-15) Bombay Schools Cricket Competition
Bombay Schools Cricket Competition

FINAL : Shardashram (English) v Balmohan Vidyamandir
played at ???, 22-25 Feb 94

Shardashram (English) won by 12 runs.

Shardashram (English) 1st innings - 223
Ravikant Chavan 64, Yogesh Kaudare 43, Pushkaraj Jadhav 29,
   Mohire 4-65

Balmohan Vidyamandir 1st innings - 209
Salil Vaidya 54, Siddarth Paradkar 21.2-11-19-5

Shardashram (English) 2nd innings - 161
Pushkaraj Jadhav 69, Naik 3-37, Salil Vaidya 2-15, Joshi 2-18

Balmohan Vidyamandir 2nd innings - 163
Salil Vaidya 92, Parpillewar 5-22, Pushkaraj Jadhav 2-39

A very exciting final culminated with Shardashram (English) win-
ning for the *fifth* year in a row. Coach Ramakant Achrekar, re-
covering from a stroke, was there to see his wards take home the
shield once again. On the last day, Balmohan's captain Salil
Vaidya led the run-chase making a gallant 92, but received no
support from his mates. Incidentally, Salil Vaidya is the grand-
son of the famous Shivaji Park coach `Anna' Vaidya (who coached
Sandeep Patil among others). Shardashram captain (and the next
Amol Muzumdar :-) Pushkaraj Jadhav had an `off' game by his
standards but apparently captained the side superbly, keeping a
cool head during the tense moments on the third and fourth days.
