Karnataka vs. AP, 3-6 Dec 93, Vijayawada

18-year-old opening batsman Arun Kumar makes a  successful  debut
with  a  stylish  84.  (Whatever  happened  to Carlton Saldanha ?
remember having read somewhere that he announced his  retirement,
don't know for sure though.)
With almost 2 days play washed out and no play  being  likely  on
the   last  day  today,  very  little interest left in the match.
Hard luck for Karnataka, considering that Andhra is  one  of  the
weaker  teams   of   the  zone  and Jeshwanth would have liked to
start the season with a win.  They have a match against Goa  next
week  in Bangalore  and it is raining here also :-( hope it stops
by then.  Remember, Karnataka have to  make  most  of  the  early
matches,   'cos once  the  SL  tour starts from Jan, they will be
weakened  by  the  absence  of  Srinath,  Kumble  (and   probably
V.Prasad)
