ND v NZ Acad XI, Rotorua, 9-11 Mar 94

Bevan Congdon, Academy XI manager: "These tours are an  important
part  of the development of New Zealand cricket but the next step
is to programme the games at a time when the opposition sides are
at strength."
This was a very much under-strength ND side with many players  on
NZ  duty,  two  in the NZ Emerging Players side currently playing
India, and, indeed, three further players  in  the Academy   side
itself. So too much should not be read into the performance of an
obviously highly motivated Academy side.   The  3rd,  and  final,
final  tour  game  is a 3-dayer against  India at Pukekura  Park,
New Plymouth, starting on Monday 14th March.  Matthew Goodson and
Llorne Howell are also in the Academy squad.
