Date-stamped : 03 Nov93 - 06:30 Castle Cup, 29Oct-1Nov93 Freestate vs. Natal - Match Report This was the most exciting match of the weekend. After Freestate declared their first innings closed on 450/8, Natal went in to bat and were 435 all out almost at the end of the the third days play of the four day match. Freestate then went in to bat and scored 317/4 (With Cronje and Liebenberg tearing apart the Natal bowling attack). The Freestate captain Hansie Cronje declared at lunch on the final day and Na- tal started batting at about 14:15 on the final day. Freestate bowled out Natal for 181, the last wicket falling with only 7 or 8 overs remaining. Hansie Cronje was named player of the match after scoring 150 in the first innings and 107 in the second.
