Date-stamped : 26 Jan95 - 06:27 CC 1993: Worcetershire v Leicestershire, Worcester, 10-14 June 1993 Rain and flooding restricted play to just 75 overs. The first day ended in a storm which knocked out the scorers' computers, and the second and final days were washed out altogether; Worcestershire had lost five complete days and more than 900 overs to the weather in six Championship games. Hick, compiling an unbeaten 104, his 70th century, still had time to become the youngest player to complete 20,000 first-clas runs, aged 27 years and 20 days. W.R. Hammond was 28 years and 13 days when he set the previous record in July 1931. Winston Benjamin took five of the six wickets to fall but was warned by umpire Julian for dissent over varying interpretations of the bouncer rule as the ball flew around helmet height.
