Date-stamped : 20 Feb95 - 10:42 CC 1993: NOTTINGHAMSHIRE v DERBYSHIRE, Trent Bridge, 26-30 Aug MATCH DRAWN Day 1, 26 Aug 1993: Paul Pollard and Wayne Dessaur shared a record-breaking opening stand for Nottinghamshire as their side took command at Trent Bridge. The Notts pair put on 291 in 100 overs the best in games between the two counties beating the 230 compiled by Chris Broad and Mark Crawley. Left hander Pollard hit a career best 180 and Dessaur made 104 as Nottinghamshire stacked up 320-3. Day 2, 27 Aug 1993: Derbyshire`s Chris Adams led the response after Nottinghamshire stacked up a massive 500-8 declaration. Notts` skipper Tim Robinson struck 11 boundaries in his 131 minute 78 as the home side added a further 180 to their overnight score. But despite losing John Morris early on Derbyshire reached the close at 155-1 with Adams making an unbeaten 76 and Peter Bowler a half century. Day 3, 28 Aug 1993: Chris Adams caned a weakened Nottinghamshire attack for a career best 175 as the Trent Bridge run feast con- tinued. Adams and Peter Bowler, who hit 153 not out, took Der- byshire to 403-6, 97 runs behind before skipper Kim Barnett de- cided to declare. Paul Polland and Wayne Dessaur made a positive start to the Derbys second innings reaching 81 without loss. Day 4, 30 Aug 1993: Derbyshire survived a threatening three wick- et burst from Nottinghamshire bowler David Pennett to draw the championship match at Trent Bridge. Set a target of 339 Der- byshire were in trouble at 21/3 when Pennett removed Peter Bowler, John Morris and Chris Adams in the space of nine deliveries.
