White, 23, hit a six off David Graveney and 12 fours in reaching his first three figure score for the county from 180 balls in 214 minutes. White shared in a fourth wicket stand of 72 with Richard Blakey (37) before pairing up with Peter Hartley (49) in an unbroken 116 run stand in 29 overs. Day 2, 27 Aug 1993: Graeme Fowler hit his first Championship cen- tury for Durham to lead a spirited reply against Yorkshire. At the close Durham were 232-3 after 79 overs in reply to Yorkshire`s 400 with Fowler unbeaten on 128 having hit 17 boun- daries from 250 balls. The former Lancashire and England opener shared a third wicket stand of 205 in 63 overs with Stewart Hut- ton (73) one off a Durham record. Day 3, 28 Aug 1993: Simon Kellett playing only his second cham- pionship game of the season saved Yorkshire from collapse against Durham. With Phil Bainbridge who took five wickets in thr first innings again causing problems Yorkshire had slumped from 144-2 to 164-6. The Yorkshire opener however stood firm reaching 82 at the close with the total on 168-6. It gave his side a lead of 236 after Durham were out for 332. Day 4, 30 Aug 1993: Durham all rounder Phil Bainbridge was the star of the draw with Yorkshire with a truly all round perfor- mance. After match figures of 9/118, the former Gloucestershire player made an unbeaten 103 at Headingley to block Yorkshire`s path to victory.
