Despite a grit- ty 67 from Steer (23), Derbyshire were hustled out for 213 in 66.3 overs after being put in on a green wicket. Medium pacer Simon Base hit back for the visitors snapping up 4-35 in 12 overs as Leicestershire closed at 128-4 still 85 runs behind. Day 4 - 20 Sep 1993 Leicestershire`s final championship match of the season against Derbyshire at Grace Road was abandoned as a draw. After rain wiped out the first two days Leicestershire declared 85 behind and then used their occasional bowlers to help Der- byshire reach 175-1 declared. The hosts needing 261 to win in a minimum of 51 overs were then reduced to 61-5 with Ole Mor- tensen taking 3-26 before the weather forced a halt.
