Date-stamped : 28 Feb95 - 10:49 CC 1993 Round 20, 16 - 20 September 1993 SURREY v YORKSHIRE, The Oval Day 1 - 16 Sep 1993 No Play Day 2 - 17 Sep 1993 No Play Day 3 - 18 Sep 1993 A seventh wicket stand of 135 in 30 overs between Adam Hollioake and Mark Butcher gave Surrey maximum batting points after two days of rain. Martyn Moxon put Surrey in and David Ward fell leg before to Darren Gough for a duck. Graham Thorpe and Alec Stewart both hit fifties before Hollioake and Butcher took Surrey to 359-7 declared. Yorkshire ended the day on 30-0. Day 4 - 20 Sep 1993 Surrey`s hopes of claiming fifth place in the table were dashed when rain meant there was no play at The Oval on the final day of the season. Alec Stewart`s side therefore failed to gain the two bonus points needed if they were to overtake Somerset. It was also a blow for Yorkshire`s Phil Carrick as it meant he was left six runs short of completing the double of 10,000 runs and 1,000 wickets.
