Date-stamped : 06 Mar95 - 19:06 Masters Cup: West Indies veterans v England veterans Bombay, 6 March 1995 WEST INDIES TROUNCE ENGLAND TO SAIL INTO MASTERS CUP SEMIS West Indian veterans, spurred by a brilliant 113 runs by Gordon Greenidge, trounced England by 163 runs at the Brabourne stadium here Monday to sail into the Masters Cup semifinals. The 43-year-old cricketer's superb 118-ball effort, comprising 15 fours and two sixes, was supplemented by half-centuries from Gus Logie and Vivian Richards to take the West Indies to a formidable 298 for seven. West Indies captain Joel Garner bowled a brilliant first two overs to prise out opening batsmen Bill Athey and Wayne Larkins, leaving England to chase a run rate of 6.64 runs an over. England did not reecover from the blow and were bowled out for 135 in the 37th over. West Indies topped the group B of the six-nation tournament leav- ing old rivals Australia and England to battle for a berth in the last four stage.
