LORD'S: Middlesex v Worcs
Richard Johnson produced a stunning spell of three wickets in
four balls to help Middlesex to their first Sunday victory of the
season. Worcestershire were left reeling as they chased a total
of 174 with relative ease until Johnson roared in to turn the
match. Damian D'Oliveira Neal Radford and Richard Illingowrth
all saw their wickets tumble as they collapsed to 153 all out and
a 21 run defeat. Mark Ramprakash rattled up the best individual
score in the Sunday League for Middlesex with his 80.

Glamorgan skipper Hugh Morris hit a Sunday best 127 not out
against leaders Surrey, but then saw his efforts washed away by
rain. The opener hit seven sixes and seven fours with his final
six going out of the ground but the Welsh side could not produce
a result between the showers.
CHELMSFORD: Essex v Gloucs
John Stephenson carried Essex to their first Sunday victory of
the season as he hit 60 and took two vital Gloucestershire wick-
ets. Essex won by 27 runs in defence of a modest 175-9.
