Sunday League Matches : 5 Jun 94 : Review

LORD'S: Middlesex v Worcs

Richard Johnson produced a stunning spell  of  three  wickets  in
four balls to help Middlesex to their first Sunday victory of the
season.  Worcestershire were left reeling as they chased a  total
of  174  with  relative  ease until Johnson roared in to turn the
match.  Damian D'Oliveira  Neal Radford and  Richard  Illingowrth
all saw their wickets tumble as they collapsed to 153 all out and
a 21 run defeat.  Mark Ramprakash rattled up the best  individual
score in the Sunday League for Middlesex with his 80.

SWANSEA: Glamorgan v Surrey

Glamorgan skipper Hugh Morris hit  a  Sunday  best  127  not  out
against  leaders  Surrey, but then saw his efforts washed away by
rain.  The opener hit seven sixes and seven fours with his  final
six  going out of the ground but the Welsh side could not produce
a result between the showers.

CHELMSFORD: Essex v Gloucs

John Stephenson carried Essex to their first  Sunday  victory  of
the  season as he hit 60 and took two vital Gloucestershire wick-
ets.  Essex won by 27 runs in defence of a modest 175-9.
