Date-stamped : 15 Dec95 - 06:40 England A Tour: Udal's last chance SHAUN UDAL is out to prove a point in the three-match one-day international series against Pakistan A, starting in Peshawar today. The Hampshire off-spinner, still a World Cup contender according to England's selectors, has endured a tough seven weeks in Pakistan. He has played in just three of England A's first-class matches and taken only three wickets in 66 overs. "It has been disappointing not to have had much of an opportunity so far on this tour," Udal said, "but I am really looking forward to these three one-dayers. "This last week is really what my tour has boiled down to and I know that there is still time for me to make an impression." John Emburey, England's manager, said: "It's important that, having won the Test series, we keep going and all the lads are determined to maintain our unbeaten tour record." New Zealand, meanwhile, open their four-match limited-overs series against Pakistan in Dunedin today and Lee Germon, the captain, said that team morale was high in spite of a 161-run defeat in the recent one-off Test between the two. "We've got a very good one-day side and on our day we are capable of beating anyone," Germon said. Players tend to view limited-overs games as a supplement to Test cricket, but with the World Cup starting in mid-February, teams are in the throes of final preparations.
