Date-stamped : 07 May95 - 22:23 SUNLG: Middlesex v Hampshire, Lord's, 7 May 1995 Middlesex cruise to victory over Hants Partnerships of 97 for the third wicket and an unbroken 113 for the fifth guided Middlesex to victory over Hampshire at Lord`s. The home side amassed a formidable total of 244 for four in their 40 overs and cruised home by 37 runs as Hants amassed just 207 for nine. Although Mike Gatting and Jason Pooley were both out with only 33 on the board, Mark Ramprakash again confirmed his liking for the Hampshire attack. He followed his unbeaten century in the Britannic Assurance Cham- pionship match with 64, while dominating the first significant stand of the innings, with John Carr. They were both out in the 25th over, leg before to Heath Streak. But then Paul Weekes and Keith Brown stayed together for the rest of the innings, both passing 50 and ensuring that Hampshire would have a formidable total to chase. The visitors were never up with the required rate. They had only 76 on the board with three wickets down at the halfway stage. Although Giles White made his first Sunday half-century and helped captain Mark Nicholas add 60 for the fifth wicket, a flur- ry of wickets left Middlesex easy winners.
