Date-stamped : 29 May95 - 14:25 SUNLG: Kent v Glamorgan, Tunbridge Wells, 28 May 1995 Glamorgan end Kent`s fine run - Clive Ellis Glamorgan (180-6) bt Kent (169) by 11 runs KENT lost their 100 per cent record in one-day matches this sea- son, though some spectacular hitting by Mark Ealham and Matthew Fleming meant that Glamorgan`s final victory margin at the Nevill Ground was only 11 runs in a game reduced to 23 overs a side. Ealham hit four sixes in making 47 and Fleming cleared the ropes three times in an over from Steve Watkin, but a target of 181 was just beyond them. Steve Barwick kept his head amid gathering mayhem to take six for 49. Glamorgan were at a potential disadvantage in having to bat first, but they were given an ideal springboard by Hugh Morris, who hit three sixes, and Steve James with a stand of 52 for the first wicket in eight overs before rain held up proceedings for two hours. Tony Cottey, despite suffering from an injured hand, improvised his way to 52 off 34 balls, and Adrian Dale hit Dean Headley for successive sixes to make 36. Excellent catches by Morris, Roland Lefebvre and Colin Metson frustrated Kent`s efforts to accelerate their innings.
