Ranjith newcomer to Bangladesh

Two of Sri Lanka's key one-day players Ruwan Kalpage and Upul Chandana have been appointed captain and vice-captain respectvely of the Sri Lanka'A' team to participate in the four-nation SAARC cricket tournament in Bangladesh from December 19-28.

The notable selections are the return of Colts fast-medium pace bowler Duleep Liyanage after a leg injury, and former Sri Lanka players Don Anurasiri (left-arm spin) and Pubudu Dasanayake (wicket-keeper).

Singha SC's fast-medium bowler Bandula Ranjith is the only newcomer to international cricket.

Ranjith presently has the best bowling figures in the Sara trophy tournament for innings (9/28 v Antonians) and match bag (15/98 v Galle CC) and has been a consistent wicket-taker.

The tournament also features the 'A' teams of India and Pakistan, and also Bangladesh.
