Date-stamped : 30 Nov96 - 10:14 27 November Under-19 Tour: Aggressive Sales ensures success By a Special Correspondent in Islamabad TOUR MATCH.-Islamabad: England U-19 194 (38.2 overs; D Sales 63), Islamabad U-19 164-9 (40 overs; B Asad 58). England won by 30 runs. DAVID SALES gave the England Under-19 side the upper hand on a turning wicket as they secured a second success in their Pakistan tour with a 30-run victory over Islamabad Under-19 yesterday. His belligerent 63 off 56 balls included nine fours and one towering six, but his innings ended when England had reached 151 and, with the momentum gone, the innings petered out with almost two overs unused. England had got off to a flying start with 83 off the first 11 overs, John Graham and Andrew Flintoff, the captain, hitting 45 off the first five overs before the loss of Flintoff for 20. In reply Bilal Asad stroked a fine 58, but Islamabad were never in the chase, held back in the middle of their innings by tight spells from the medium pace of Flintoff (7-1-17-1) and slow left- arm bowler Dean Cosker (8-0-33-3). However, there were injury concerns for England. Opening bowler Steve Harmison and all-rounder Neil Martin had back strains, with Martin unable to play so far after breaking down during nets. Gareth Batty and Dean Cosker suffered from viruses. Phil Neale, tour coach, said: "We hope it's just a 24-hour thing. You can't prepare for this happening, you just have to put up with it. We're very pleased with the start to the tour. We have two good wins under our belts and we move on to Karachi in good spirits." England meet Karachi Cricket Association Under-19 for their first three-day match tomorrow.
