Date-stamped : 17 Nov96 - 02:12 16 November 1996 Adams To Go To India Peter Pollock, chairman of the South African selection panel has announced that "chinaman" bowler Paul Adams will join the South African squad in India. Pollock made the announcement after watching Adams take 4 wickets for Western Province in a SuperSport Series match against Boland. The selectors were satisfied that Adams has fully recovered from the groin injury that has kept him out of action since the South Africa "A" tour to England. Adams will depart after the completion of this weekend`s fixture, so it seems unlikely that he will be considered for the first Test Match which starts on Wednesday. In fact it`s possible that he may not even arrive in time for the start of the match. Interviewed on SABC TV news Adams said that he is looking forward to joining the team and to bowling on Indian wickets. Contributed by Bob.Dubery (dauphin@aztec.co.za)
