Date-stamped : 09 Nov96 - 14:13 7 November 1996 Transvaal Skipper Ken Rutherford Set Sights On Completing Double By Peter Robinson With Transvaal back on track again after beating Border by five wickets at the Wanderers last night, albeit a shade nervously, skipper Ken Rutherford has set his sights on completing the dou- ble against Natal at Kingsmead tomorrow (sat) night. "WE want to win two out of two this week," said Rutherford. "I don`t think that winning here will take away that edge. We need to win these two games especially with Northerns losing, surpris- ingly, to North West. We have a great chance to get up top ahead of everyone and let them try and chase us." Rutherford had particular praise for Adam Bacher, whose 75 set Transvaal on course for victory, and Trevor Webster who took 3/34 with his first two wickets coming in his first over as Border were rocked back on their heels. "Adam batted intelligently, I think," he said. "He realised what the situation was, that we needed someone to bat through and he more or less did that. He was probably disappointed to get out 30 runs short, but by then the hard work had been done and it was a bit of a cruise. "Trevor got through nicely. We`ve been talking at practice about being more aggressive in our bowling and our approach to fielding and I think that was borne out in the way the guys bowled today," he said. "The most disappointing aspect of the bowling was the 20 wides which, obviously, is a real no-no in one-day cricket. It`s somet- ing we have paid attention to, but unfortunately it came back to haunt us again today," he said. For tomorrow`s match, Stefan Jacobs has been added to the eleven who did duty last night. Jacobs may well get a game in Durban in place of Richard Snell who did not bowl last night and again failed with the bat. Squad Ken Rutherford (capt), Adam Bacher, Richard Snell, Neil McKenzie, Dean Laing, Nic Pothas Zander de Bruyn, Andrew Hall, Clive Eksteen, Trevor Webster, Wayne Kidwell, Stefan Jacobs.
