Villavarayan (9/15) bowls Bloomfield to victory

Paceman Mario Villavarayan in a devastating spell of bowling captured nine Police wickets for 15 runs to lead Bloomfield to an innings and 150 run victory over Police at Reid Avenue in a Sara Trophy Segment 'A' match yesterday. He ended up with the excellent figures of 11.3-6-15-9.

Earlier Bloomfield declared at 417 for 7 wickets helped by a splendid knock of 160 by left hander Ruwan Kalpage who had 16 boundaries and one six having faced 205 deliveries.

Bloomfied 417 for 7 decl. in 104.3 overs.

Police SC 204 in 81.1 overs and 63 all out in 33.1 overs (C. Liyanage 29, D. Gunawardena 26, Mario Villavarayan 9/15).

SSC IN INNINGS WIN

SSC beat Antonians SC by an innings and 14 runs at Maitland Place in a P. Sara Segment 'A' cricket encounter yesterday.

Antonians SC 206 and 197 all out in 47.5 overs, 188 mins (S. Jayewardena 14, N. Prasanga 31, P. Wanasinghe 24, Yasas Tillekeratne 23, V. Sittamage 53, Nuwan Soysa 4/68, Jayantha Silva 2/26).
