Although Thursday night's decision was not a unanimous one, the general consensus of opinion was that a precedent should not be set once a decision had been taken.
Thus, the fate of CCC lies with the Sports Minister who has the power to over rule any decision taken by a sports body under the Sports Law.
The CCC were suspended by the Cricket Board's tournament committee from taking part in the current Sara trophy season, for violating Clause 11.3 concerning 'The Pitch' under Part 'B' of its rules and conditions.
The CCC failed to prepare a pitch for its Sara trophy game against SSC at Maitland Crescent scheduled for November 28.
The Cricket Board however gave the CCC cricketers the option of playing for another club during the current season.
The Cricket Board we understand, showed deep concern to the affected cricketers by meeting most of them prior to yesterday's meeting and giving them a hearing.
The Cricket Board also made it a point to note that so far the CCC had not taken any steps of its own to inquire into and reprimand the officials guilty of the offence.
