Two fine knocks by Asoka Vidyalaya's D. Dilhara (106) and Chaminda Hettiarachchi (68) helped them to force a draw against Piliyandala MV in their inter-school cricket match which concluded at Piliyandala, yesterday.

Asoka Vidyalaya who were struggling at 92 for 9 were bundled out for 95 and following on with a deficit of 263 runs of the first innings did well to score 364 in their second innings helped by these two fine innings by Dilhara and Hettiarachchi.

Asoka Vidyalaya (92 for 9 overnight) 95 all out (Buddhika Wijedasa 3 for 22, Lasantha Wickremasinghe 6 for 40) and 364 all out (D. Dilhara 106, Chaminda Hettiarachchi 68, A. Palitha 49, Nalaka Dassanayake 38, L. Perera 24, Buddhika Wijedasa 3 for 45, Chamal Hettiarachchi 3 for 55, Lasantha Wickremasinghe 2 for 56).

Exciting draw at Campbell Place

Trinity College held Nalanda to an exciting draw in their inter school cricket encounter concluded at Campbell Place yesterday.

The Nalandians finished at 71 for 8 in their second innings after they were set a victory target of 76 runs from 16 overs. Earlier Trinity were bowled out for 136 in their second innings with Niranjan Kumara claiming 6 for 64 thus giving him a match bag of 12 wickets.

Trinity : 160 and 136 in 59.3 overs.(I.Gunawardena 20, N.Ekanayake 21, K.Sangakkara 18, S.Morathota 34, D.Weeraratne 11, N.Kumara 6 for 64, S.de Silva 2 for 17).
