* Royal will meet their arch rivals Nalanda in a key inter school cricket encounter at Reid Avenue starting on Friday. Royal have experienced mixed fortunes in the current season having gone down to Dharmapala and Thurstan a few weeks ago. But they also record- ed a morale-boosting victory over St.Benedict's College a couple of week's ago.

In contrast the Nalandians are still searching for their first win in the current season. Last week they figured in an exciting draw against Trinity College at Campbell Place after having earlier gone down to St.Sebastian's College at Moratuwa. Even then Nalanda should have the edge over their opponents mainly due to their fine all round side.

* St.Sebastian's College will be hoping to extend their dominance in the current season when they take on D.S.Senanayake in their inter-school encounter which begins at Moratuwa on Friday.

The Sebastianites have already made their presence felt having recorded four good victories in the current season. D.S.Senanayake too are quite confident following their excellent performance against Isipathana last weekend. Now they will be hoping to put up a repeat performance in this important fixture. The key player in the Sebastianite line up is leg spinner Nimesh Perera who has been quite consistent in the current season. However D.S.Senanayake do have the talent to match their opponents.

* Isipathana will travel to Negombo to take on Maris Stella College in their inter-school encounter which starts at Negombo on Friday while Mahinda will play host to Maliyadeva College at the Galle Esplanade.

* Sara trophy table leaders SSC will not have a fixture this weekend as the sixth weekend's premier league matches starts in Colombo, Moratuwa and Panadura on Friday. Of the six segment 'A' division 1 tournament matches, four game will be played in Colombo.

Colts CC, who have advanced into the second place with 70 points (behind SSC who have 81 points) with two outright and one first innings win, also in five outings, gets a good chance of consolidating their position when they host Singha Sc at Havelock Park. Third-placed Bloomfield (68.5 points) will meet BRC at Reid Avenue.

* Sara Trophy division 1 tournament segment 'B' table leaders Moors will get a good chance to extend their lead when they take on Kandy CC in their three-day game which starts at Kandy on Friday.

The Braybrooke Place Club has gained a total of 42 points winning both their tournament matches outright. Air Force, who takes the second place with 36.5 points, will take on Negombo CC at katunayake. There are a total of seven segment 'B' three-day games which starts on Friday.
