* The key inter school first X1 cricket match between S.Thomas' College and St.benedict's College scheduled for this weekend, has been advanced by a day.

The two-day game will now start at S.Thomas' College grounds, Mt.Lavinia on Thursday.

Two other matches will start on Friday - Ananda vs. Prince of wales at Ananda Mawatha and Wesley vs. St.Joseph's at Campbell Park.

* Two good half centuries by Amal Wanigasekera (59 n.o) and Pradeep Fernando (60) helped BRC register a first innings win over Rio SC in their Cricket Board Division two cricket tournament match played at Havelock Park.

Chief scores: BRC: 273 for 8 decl in 87 overs. (M. Rajapakse 14, A. Wanigasekera 59, R. Weerakoon 19, S. Dharmasena 27, J. Gajaweera 29, P. Fernando 60, I. Kodagoda 17, C. Priyadarshana 22, H. R. P. de Silva 3 for 64, S. Semage 3 for 71). Rio SC: 139 in 49 overs. (T. Srilal 40 n.o, A. Wanigasekera 7 for 39) and 206 for 6 in 51.5 overs. (S. Semage 92, R. M. Jayashantha 28, E. Mendis 28, R. Weerakoon 2 for 12).

* Chaminda Ruwan Kumarage captured all 10 wickets and also scored a half century to enable Holy Cross College, Kalutara to score a first innings win over St. Thomas' College, Bandarawela in their Under 19 Coca-Cola trophy cricket encounter played at the Badulla Esplanade.

Holy Cross batting first were all out for 99 and were 196 for 8 in their second innings. STC were bundled out for 82 in 27.3 overs with Chaminda Ruwan Kumarage, the medium pace right arm bowler capturing all 10 wickets for 40 runs in 13 overs out of which two were maidens. At close of play STC were 95 for 3 when bad light prevented any further play.
