Garner, Logie will come to Sri Lanka with Windies 'A' team

Two former West Indian Test 'greats' - fast bowler Joel Garner and batsman Gus Logie have been named as manager and coach respectively of the West Indies 'A' team that will tour Sri Lanka from October 27 to December 2.

The 16-member team comprising 14 players and two officials will be led by Test all-rounder Roger Harper. Fast bowlers Cameron Cuffy and Ottis Gibson and batsman Stuart Williams are the other players with Test experience while wicket-keeper/batsman Philo Wallace and all-rounder Laurie Williams have represented West Indies in one-day internationals.

The nine-match tour comprises three unofficial tests and three one-day internationals against Sri Lanka 'A'. The tourists will also play three side games.

Sri Lanka Cricket Board have named a 20-member pool which is undergoing training under the watchful eyes of two former Sri Lanka cricketers Ranjit Fernando (coach) and T.B. Kehelgamuwa (manager).

October 27 : Arrival

October 30-31 : v Colts XI at Police Park, Bambalapitiya

November 2-4 : v Board President's XI at CCC grounds

November 7-10 : 1st unofficial Test at Welagedera Stadium, Kurunegala

November 13-16 : 2nd unofficial Test at Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy

November 20-23 : 3rd unofficial Test at Uyanwatte Stadium, Matara

November 25 : One-day practice match in Colombo

November 27 : 1st one-day 'international' at Tyronne Fernando Stadium, Moratuwa

November 29 : 2nd one-day 'international' at Sara Stadium

December 1 : 3rd one-day 'international' at SSC

December 2 : Departure.
