Report on umpires to Cricket Boards

13 November 1996

The West Indies 'A' are to send their reports on umpires to the respective cricket boards.

West Indies 'A' team manager Joel Garner when asked to comment on the umpiring in the first unofficial 'Test' played at Kurunegala said: ``What we have decided to do is to leave our reports with the individual Cricket Boards''.

``The captain, coach and myself will write the reports as we see it and leave it to the individual Cricket Boards to deal with the problem of umpires,'' said Garner.

West Indies 'A' were unhappy with some of the decisions given against them in the Kurunegala Test which they won by ten wickets.

One of their batsmen even went to the extent of showing his displeasure by smashing soft drink bottles in the dressing room after being given out caught behind.
