The visitors restricted the opposition to 208 for 9 in 50 overs and then reached their target with exactly ten overs to spare. However at one stage they were in some danger after having lost six wickets for just 120 runs. But Roger Harper and L.Williams took them home safely with a seventh wicket stand of 83 runs.
Harper scored an unbeaten 38 which was studded with two sixes and the same number of boundaries. Williams compiled a superb knock of 44 inclusive of five boundaries. This was after David Joseph had hit a sparkling 65 in almost the same number of deliveries. He hoisted four sixes and stroked half dozen of boundaries and also figured in a third wicket stand of 77 runs together with Floyed Reifer.
Earlier the Sri Lanka Board XI scored 208 for 9 after having elected to bat first. Indika de Saram made a top score of 39 inclusive of four boundaries and added 64 runs for the second wicket with Sanjeewa Ranatunga.
