Date-stamped : 18 Feb97 - 10:15 14 February 1997 Ambrose sponsored ST JOHN`S, Antigua, Cana - West Indies pacer Curtly Ambrose has disclosed that he will sign a contract with one of the leading sponsors of regional cricket, next week. The 33-year-old Antiguan said yesterday, he has received an offer from the Jamaica-based Carib Cement Company - the sponsors of the West Indies Under-15 championship, for the next three years. In a telephone interview, Ambrose who has appeared in 65 Test matches, taking 285 wickets, since his international debut in 1988, told CANA he is delighted about the offer. He, however declined from giving details of the proposed con- tract, but revealed it involves making special appearances on be- half of the company, including motivating junior cricketers - participating in the regional under-15 tournament. According to Ambrose, the contract was initiated by President of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Pat Rosseau, who is due here on February 22, when details of the contract are expected to be finalised.
