Date-stamped : 04 Nov96 - 10:13 Report- Daily News Pakistan vs Zimbabwe third one-day international: Pakistan win PESHAWAR, Pakistan, Sunday - Saqlain Mushtaq took four wickets in five balls, including a hat-trick, to spin Pakistan to a 77-run victory over Zimbabwe on Sunday in the third and final one-day international, which was marred by crowd trouble. Police used batons to control some of the 35,000-strong crowd who threw stones, bottles, fruit and other projectiles, causing seven stoppages in a total time-loss of 81 minutes. The 50-over-a-side match was first reduced to 40 overs, in which Pakistan reached 264 for nine, and later to 34 overs with Zimbabwe set a revised target of 225. The worst crowd trouble broke out in the area containing the press enclosure on the right side of the main pavilion. Spectators broke down a five-metre high iron gate and a three-metre high fence to force their way in. Police used batons but reporters had to abandon the area which was left a complete shambles. Order was eventually restored and the crowd were able to warm to Saqlain who recorded a career-best four for 28 from 6.1 overs as Zimbabwe were bowled out for 147 in 32.1 overs. The hat-trick came in his fifth over when he dismissed Zimbabwe's top scorer Grant Flower (77) and John Rennie, both caught behind, followed by Andrew Whittall, caught at first slip. Saqlain, 19, declared himself "delighted'' but the man-of-the-match award went to team mate Ijaz Ahmad who earlier had scored a fine 117, which included 10 fours and four sixes. Azam Khan, in his first international, made a brilliant 72 while Moin Khan scored a rapid-fire 34 from 17 balls as the home side's last 20 overs yielded 194 runs. The only consolation for Zimbabwe was an outstanding debut by Everton Matambanadzo who finished with four for 32, including a wicket in his first over. Pakistan won the series 3-0.
