The umpires committee of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board after giving serious thought to the complaints made by Sri Lanka 'A' and England 'A' teams on the standard of umpiring in the ongoing series, have decided the remaining matches on the tour - the three unofficial one-day internationals, should be officiated by Sri Lanka's international panel of umpires.

As a result of this decision taken by the umpires committee, T.M. Samarasinghe and D.N. Pathirana have been appointed to officiate in today's first one-day game at Moratuwa.

``We decided to give our second panel of umpires a chance of gaining exposure at international level. But we had to take into consideration the complaints of bad umpiring from both teams,'' said umpires committee secretary Marion Cooray yesterday.

Cooray said that ICC international panel umpires K.T. Francis and B.C. Cooray along with Peter Manuel and Ignatius Anandappa will officiate the second and third one-day internationals to be played at Matara Uyanwatte Stadium on Friday and Saturday. [S.T.]
