Pakistan 'A' team to be named today

LAHORE, Feb 9: Pakistan ``A'' cricket team and its officials will be announced on Tuesday afternoon after the Pakistan cricket Board (PCB) executive council meeting at the Qadhafi Stadium.

PCB chief executive Majid Khan, while talking exclusively to this reporter on Monday evening, said that officially neither a name of captain nor manager or coach of the Pakistan ``A'' team has been made public.

``The names appearing in a section of press (not Dawn) as captain or officials of the team could be termed as witch-hunting or a figment of imagination'', said the soft-spoken PCB chief executive.

The PCB executive council will begin deliberations after the luncheon interval on Tuesday at 1:30 pm. The meeting can be of short duration.

While replying toa question about agenda of the meeting, Majid Khan said:

``The main item on the agenda is approval of the Pakistan ``A'' team picked by national selection committee on Saturday last and finalisation of names of the captain,manager and coach. Other items of the agenda are not of much significance''.
