LAHORE, Oct 30: The South African all-rounderBrian McMillan had to rush back home on Monday on learning that his wife was seriously ill! As soon as information about the illness of his wife was received in Lahore, besides his teammates, team-management also sympathisedwith the player and also made allnecessary arrangements for his return to South Africa as early as possible.

The ``Big Bird'' Brain McMillan is the third South African cricketer who had to go back home during the current tour of Pakistan for one reason or the other.

Incidentally, all the three players who have returned home are all-rounders. Shultz, who is an excellent left-arm paceman, had a recurrence of trouble to his functional limb. He was the first one to go back home. Jacquez Kallis was also injured during the tour and he has also gone back to South Africa since.

The experienced right-arm paceman Fanie de Villiers is the only player which was named by the South African cricket authorities to join the team. It had reversed an earlier decision to call back some players and name a few new players.

By Our Sports Reporter

LAHORE, Oct 30: Some persons connected with cricket can be seen roaming around in a five-star hotel with their heads newly shaved. On being curious about this new trend among some members of the South African contingent current touring Pakistan, this reporter made inquiries. It was revealed that it had been done due to lost bets.

One of the senior-most members of the contingent representing a South African news agency Ray Williams, himself having shaved off his head said:

``Yes! we have got our heads shaved after losing a bet. We had told some members of the South African side that if they succeeded in springing a surprise by winning the third and last test at Faisalabad from that hopeless position, we will get our heads shaved. Since they performed a miracle, we willingly accepted the condition of the bet!''

The Quadrangular Trophy specially designed for the Floodlit Cricket Tournament being organised at the Qadhafi Stadium from Nov 1 to 8 in connection with the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Pakistan was unveiled at a local hotel.
