The two times world champions West Indies along with Pakistan, South Africa and the world champion Sri Lanka will play Four-Nation tournament to be held under the floodlights at the Qaddhafi Stadium from November 1 to 8. At the conclusion of the Four-Nation tournament, the West Indies will play three Tests.
The West Indians's celebrated captain Clive Lloyd is accompanying the team as manager. Talking to reporters at the Airport, Lloyd said that the one-day tournament would be a tough contest as four top teams were taking part in it. He said the West Indians would do their best to win. Lloyd said his team would play each match of the series in a do or die spirit.
Former paceman Malcolm Marshall, who is accompanying the team as coach said the tour was a tough one as the best teams of the cricketing world were taking part in the tournament. Responding to a question, he said besides cricket his men would also enjoy the ideal weather here. The Sri Lankan and the West Indies will play the opening match of the one-day tournament on Nov 1. The first Test between the Pakistan and the West Indies will be played at Peshawar from Nov 17. The second Test is scheduled to be played at Rawalpindi from Nov 29 to Dec 3 and the final Test at Karachi from Dec 6 to 10.
