Bahawalpur make partial recovery

KARACHI, Dec 28: Bahawalpur made a partial recovery against Rawalpindi on the second day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National Cricket Championship Grade-I tie at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

According to details available here, only 32.3 overs could be bowled as a combination of heavy fog and rain badly disrupted play. Bahawalpur, who had made 85 for six on Saturday, did well to reach 162 for eight in 63 overs, thanks largely to 53-run partnership for the seventh-wicket between Rehan Rafiq and Muhammad Tayyab in difficult batting conditions.

The match between Islamabad and Gujranwala at the CRA Ground in Islamabad could not be started for the second day running because of heavy rains and fog.

Day 4: Rawalpindi gain 1st inning's points

KARACHI, Dec 30: Rawalpindi earned first innings points after their four-day Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National Cricket Championship Grade-I tie against Bahawalpur ended in a draw at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

According to a message here, Rawalpindi made 342 all out in reply to Bahawalpur's first innings tally of 244. Bahawalpur, who have 48 points, played out the remaining overs to reach 26 for one in their second essay.

The match between Islamabad and Gujranwala at the CRA Ground in Islamabad was abandoned without a being bowled because of bad weather.
