Malaysia make one-day cup debut today

KARACHI, March 16: Malaysia face the realities of one-day cricket on Tuesday when they face former champions Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in their 17th Wills Cup debut at the Gadhafi Stadium, Lahore.

Malaysia-PIA match will be one of the eight games that are on cards for Tuesday.

ICC Trophy champions Bangladesh meet Bahawalpur in a Pool A match at the UBL Sports Complex while another Pool A match will be played at Niaz Stadium, Hyderabad, between Habib Bank and Pakistan Customs.

ADBP will take on Gujranwala at Gujranwala in a Pool B match while the other will be played at the Gadhafi Stadium.

The two Pool C matches have been scheduled at Bohranwali ground, Faisalabad, between Karachi Whites and WAPDA, and at Sheikhupura between Multan and National Bank.

Defending champions Allied Bank will play the most crucial match of the day when they take on KRL at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi. The other match in Pool D will be between Peshawar and Islamabad at Arbab Niaz Stadium, Peshawar.

Karachi Blues, Habib Bank (from Pool A), Gujranwala, ADBP (from Pool B), Faisalabad, WAPDA (for Pool C), Rawalpindi and Allied Bank (from Pool D) have already won their openers.
