Date-stamped : 02 Jun97 - 14:17 Worcs (262-4) beat Somerset (177) by 85 runs GRAEME Hick responded to being ignored by the England selec- tors with an unbeaten 119 from 91 balls in Worcestershire`s 85-run Sun- day League win over Somerset at New Road. He hit six fours and six sixes on the day he learned he would miss the first Test of a home series for the first time since his Eng- land debut in 1991. Hick`s return to form resulted in his first competitive centu- ry of the season and his first one-day hundred since he made 102 not out against Holland in the World Cup in February 1996. The packed crowd greeted his second 50, from 30 balls, with a standing ovation. Worcestershire`s score of 262 for four was their highest against Somerset in the competition. The best Somerset could muster in reply was a league best 67 off 75 balls by Rob Turner, but he was one of five batsmen to be run out in an unfortunate collapse for 177.
