Chasing 227, a modest target at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire reached 109 for one, with Tim Hancock making 50. Michael Foster then took three quick wickets but Durham`s attack could not con- tain Rus- sell. Durham, for whom Jon Lewis made a maiden Sunday century, 102 off 111 balls, promised to post a formidable score but faltered late on and could manage only 38 from their last six overs.
