The 24-year-old left-arm seamer joined former England batsman Graeme Hick, bowling his occasional off-spin, to bring about a col- lapse in which the home side lost their last six wickets for only 38 runs in seven overs to be all out for 182. Worcestershire, who won the toss, made 220 for six in their 40 overs, two of the wickets falling to Darren Gough on his re- turn to action after being out since the beginning of August with a knee in- jury.
