Glamorgan, who included only five of the team who played the previous day, lost their last six wickets for only 16 runs. Peter Such, who conceded 23 runs from his first three overs, then took five wickets for four runs in 21 balls to end with career best figures of five for 29. Stuart Law and Paul Prichard gave Essex a rapid start, adding 71 in 11 overs, before Nasser Hussain guided them to victory with eight overs remaining.
