KARACHI, Sept 16: Paceman Shahid Nazir leaves Lahore early Wednesday morning for Toronto, Canada, to replace the injured Kabir Khan, it was learnt here on Tuesday.

Nazir, who took five wickets in his Test debut last season, had missed the selection earlier this month on fitness grounds. However, sources said the Faisalabad-born pacer had regained full fitness and that was the prime reason for his selection in the Combined XI team for the three-day match against South Africa.

Shahid Nazir, though, will miss the third match to be played on Wednesday, but will be available for the remaining two games that will be played on Saturday and Sunday.

Kabir Khan had sustained a groin injury on Sunday after bowling just three deliveries, thus, raising suspicion of hiding his injury which had been indicated by Haroon Rasheed before departure. Haroon, on the eve of departure, had said Kabir was ``a little unfit but would be in shape when he reaches Canada.''

Previously, Pakistan captain Wasim Akram had kept mum about his shoulder injury for the two-Test tour of Sri Lanka in April.

Sources said a disciplinary action might be taken against the Peshawar bowler for not informing the authorities about his physical condition. Meanwhile, the selection committee will be announcing Shahid Nazir's replacement for the three-dayer against South Africa.

The names of Athar Laiq and Ali Gohar were also being considered for selection.
