Peter Cooper Volkswagen Southern Cricket League Statistics 1998 Havant left-hander Paul Gover is topping the Peter Cooper Volkswagen Southern League run scoring chart at the halfway point of the season. Among eight batsmen to pass the 300 run mark, Gover has rattled up 390 runs at an average of 48.75. "It's a pretty pleasing set of statistics, especially considering I have been batting at four all season." enthused the Havant captain, who finished top Southern League batsman in 1992 and 1995. Burridge opener Peter Tugwell lies third in the charts, one place above Hambledon captain Richard Kenway, who has hit four half-centuries this season. Leading local bowler is Burridge's former Gosport Borough paceman Paul Jenkins, whose 17 victims included his 300th Southern League wicket captured last weekend.
