LANCASHIRE, the AXA League title winners, emphasised again their pre-eminence in the one-day game with a crushing victory which may well condemn Nottinghamshire to National League Division Two next season.

Andy Flintoff led the way with an undefeated 93 off 56 balls, including three sixes and 11 fours, the bedrock of a total which the hosts were never going to match.

Nottinghamshire needed to score at a rate of 9.25 runs through their 24 overs but at least Paul Johnson's 51 not out puts him in line for the league's batting award of £5,000. He is seven runs ahead of Northamptonshire's Mal Loye, who may not feature on Sunday because of back trouble.
