Donald is expected to return home after the fifth Test against England at Headingley to rest weary limbs. Donald has been fighting exhaustion from a demanding tour and an ankle injury and, faces a Test series against West Indies, the World Cup in England and a benefit season with Warwickshire next year.
``I'm starting to feel the effects of bowling a large number but I've just got to bite the bullet. There are in effect, seven more days of this Test series to go,'' said South Africa's ace fast bowler who is counting the number of days before he can put his tired feet up.
Donald picked up his 14th five wicket haul in the current fourth Test against England at Trent Bridge taking 5 for 109, which is a record for his country and took his overall tally to 228 wickets in 46 Tests.
England coach David Lloyd paid Donald a great tribute when he compared him to former England fast bowler Freddie Trueman.''He is classic Fred Trueman: a couple of wickets at the start, one in the middle of the innings and then another couple to round off the day,'' said Lloyd. ``It would be terrific if we had someone with Donald's pace. But we have hardly had one since the war,'' he said.
As in the series against Sri Lanka early this year, Donald has proved himself to be a titanic fast bowler. He carried his aggregate in the current Test series against England to 24 wickets at an average of 20.
