Bermuda U16 tour of Canada short scores and reportsfrom the Canadian Cricket Association1-9 August 1998Bermuda defeated Canada U-16 by 7 wickets at Sunnybrook Park today. Canada batting first were dismissed for a paltry 72 runs by a Bermuda quick attack on a lively pitch. Rain had interrupted Thursday's and Friday's games after a rest day on Wednesday. The Bermudan youngsters were wonderful guests as were their coaches and management team which was lead by President Elvin James. Bermuda won the series 2 games to 1 against Canada, and also won their initial game against the Toronto & District Cricket Association. Friendships, sparkling early weather, and the mutual resolve to recommend the continuation of this type of junior development tournament centred around Bermuda and Canada. We are hopeful that with the support of public and private sponsors, ICC Development and the West Indies Cricket Board, that this will be become fact again in 1999.
