1999/2000 SEASON FORMAT FOR STANDARD BANK COMPETITION Standard Bank Competition (STD) The 11 Provincial teams compete against each other in the Preliminary Round on the basis of five home and five away matches. At the conclusion of the preliminary round the four teams emerging with the most points compete in two semi-finals on the basis of position one playing four, and position two playing three. Each semi-final will consist of two legs on a home and away basis with a third leg if necessary. At the conclusion of the semi-finals, the two top teams compete in a one-off final. Progression to the Semi-Finals In the event of two or more teams finishing on an equal number of points the position in the log will be decided as follows:
