Matthew Hayden who has looked solid as a rock all through the
tour, played some powerful shots to take the initiative away from the Indians.
He is really enjoying a good tour of India, carrying his good form from the
Test series into the One-Dayers. Hayden who played a commanding knock, was dismissed
one run short of his hundred, lbw to Shewag; a decision that raised a few eye-brows.
Hayden's explosive innings was punctuated with seven strokes past the ropes
and a big six, coming off just 89 balls. Hayden making a comeback into the ODI
team wearing Andrew Symonds' shirt, has easily been the most consistent batsman
on either side. His dismissal at 174 triggered a mini collapse from which the
Aussies never recovered.
