India won the toss and elected to bat first in the second One Day
International match played against Australia at the Nehru Stadium,
Poona. India already 1-0 in the series, made two changes to their
team. Sunil Joshi, the left-arm spinner came in to the side in place
of Ajit Agarkar while left-handed batsman Dinesh Mongia made his debut
replacing the injured Virendra Shewag. Australia made some serious
changes to their team. Darren Lehmann, Andrew Symonds and Nathan
Bracken replaced Ricky Ponting, Shane Warne and Ian Harvey. Sourav
Ganguly’s poor run of form with the bat continues. He made just four
runs, before being bowled by McGrath, off the inside edge in the
seventh over.
