It was one of those days when Mark Waugh was on song. He made batting
look so easy as he went about playing the shots with his usual elan.
He caressed the ball through the leg side with the gentle flick of his
wrists and played a delicate, laidback late cut off the bowling of
Ganguly. As the legendary former Australian skipper Ian Chappell says,
"Australia usually wins when Mark Waugh makes a big score". There was
no stopping Mark Waugh or the Australians who shook off their three
match losing streak. It was just a formality for the Match referee
Cammie Smith to name Mark Waugh as the Man of the Match.
